When a song crosses my social media feed, I linger, humming the melody and deducing harmonies that might exist beneath it. I record these attempts, often live, using a phone or simple studio tools. With prosumer hardware, I refine these raw takes into polished pieces, sharing my earnest (and often humorous) efforts to be the bass for whom no one asked.
Whether it’s harmonizing a Dwarven anthem from The Lord of the Rings or improvising during my Dungeons & Dragons sessions, But He Not a Base Doe is my way of stepping into the lower registers—notes that may elude my natural range but not my passion.
